Cedar Law, an education law firm serving families in Washington, California, Oregon, and Idaho is seeking a paralegal to be primarily responsible for all special education due process filings in these states. The paralegal will also be expected to step in to assist with state and federal filings and other paralegal tasks as needed.
Job Requirements
- Paralegal certification
- Experience as a paralegal
- Solid understanding of civil litigation (state and federal deadlines and rules)
- High proficiency in MS Suite (specifically Word and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
- Team player with excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Salary and Benefits
The pay range for the position is $30-$35 per hour depending on experience plus additional bonus earnings potential and benefits. This position is also a hybrid remote position with 2-3 days work-from-home weekly.
Responsibilities
- Ability to assist attorneys with propounding and responding to discovery (interrogatories, requests for admissions, and request for production, subpoenas, and preparing deposition binders) and motions (preparation of any supporting documents and exhibits, and preparing hearing binders)
- Ability to manage trial/hearing preparation including: coordination of witnesses and travel, exhibits, charts, trial notebook, subpoenas, and page lines
- Work as part of a team with all levels of experiences
- Routine communications with clients, experts, and attorneys about case status and preparation
