Mikena Wemple is an experienced special education leader with over 25 years in the field, including district leadership roles since 2010. She holds graduate degrees in Mental Health Counseling and Psychology with a focus on Applied Behavior Analysis and specializes in developing equitable systems that support students with diverse needs.
Mikena has a proven track record of leading special education programs, coaching educators, and implementing evidence-based solutions to foster inclusion and accessibility. As a consultant and trainer, she has contributed to statewide initiatives, including the Washington Education Association’s Inclusionary Practices Technical Assistance Network, to advance equity in education.
Beyond her work, Mikena enjoys outdoor adventures with her three labs and spontaneous moments with family and friends, reflecting her passion for connection and inclusion.
